PTM Junior Programs

From Munchkins (4-9yrs) to High Performance Juniors (10-18 yrs)

Professional Tennis Managment, PTM Services, offers a variety of junior instructional programs for juniors 4-18 years of age from beginners to high performance players.  There are three primary programs or classifications;  Junior Munchkins, Junior Circuit, and High Performance Junior Excellence.  



Junior Munchkin Tennis Program

 

Designed for 4-10 year olds from Novice to Beginning Intermediate Levels

 

¨       The Junior Munchkin Program is a fun and exciting program designed for the young player between 4-10 years old.  PTM is adopting a developmental progressive approach to equipping children to play tennis quickly and appropriately utilizing modified racquets, lower pressure balls, and smaller courts (36’ x 18’, 60’ x 21’ & full sized courts).  This approach borrows from and is in line with many initiatives including ITF Play and Stay, USTA QuickStart and LTA Mini Tennis.  In order to provide the best possible atmosphere for learning, the juniors are divided in to two different groups, Mini-Munchkins (4-7 yrs) and Munchkins (7-9 yrs.) 

¨       Warm-up and conditioning drills including a variety of footwork, balance, and agility exercises

¨       Personal evaluation of strokes and player profiles

¨       Game based learning situations and supervised match play  with modified scoring systems geared to juniors between 4-9 years of age.

¨       Advice on basic tactics and strategies

Junior Quickstart Program

A USTA Initiative Designed for 4-9 year olds

from Novice to Beginning Intermediate Level

 

PTM is pleased to offer Quickstart as part of our curriculum.  Similar to PTM's Munchkin Program, the USTA's Quickstart initiative is geared toward juniors between the ages of 4 and 9 years.  Quickstart is designed to equip young players to play tennis quickly with appropriately using smaller racquets, multi-colored low compression balls, (Red & Yellow, Orange and Yellow), and smaller courts (36’ x 18’, 60’ x 21’ & full sized courts).  Similar to our Munchkin Program, juniors are divided in to two different age groups (4-7 yrs) and  (7-9 yrs.) to ensure more indivdualized attention.

 

Each Class Features:

 Junior Circuit Tennis Program

 

Designed for 9-18 year olds from Novice to Beginning Advanced levels

 

Juniors receive professional instruction on the fundamentals, scoring and tennis etiquette, basic strategies, mobility and footwork dills, match play drills, tips on mental toughness and basic nutrition, and match play.  In an effort to ensure the best possible learning environment, juniors are grouped into three primary classifications:  Jr. Grand Prix, Jr. Grand Champions, and Jr. Grand Masters.  One and a half hour daily works out sessions are offered five days a week (Monday-Friday) year round and twice a day in the summer.  This innovative program features:

   

¨       Groupings based on physical and chronological age & skill levels

¨       Warm-up and conditioning drills and exercises

¨       Personal evaluation of strokes & player profiles w/ video analysis

¨       Game based learning situations and a progressive match play system

¨       Advice on singles and doubles tactics and strategies

¨       Mental tips & periodic mental skills coaching

        and tips on skin care and effective dietary and nutritional habits

   High Performance Jr. Excellence Program

 

Designed for competitive tournament players looking to take their games to the next level!

Players are selected for the program upon invitation and individual try out basis only

 

A dynamic and innovative approach to playing designed to maximize your court positioning and on-court performance.  This specialized junior excellence program focuses on movement priorities and visual clues, racquet skills, shot selection, singles and doubles tactics, mobility and footwork drills, and competitive match play drills and games.   This program utilizes the latest in advanced techniques to accelerate the growth and development of the junior player.  Players are grouped into four groups Elite Bronze, Elite Silver, Elite Gold, and Elite Platinum.    Two hour daily works out sessions are offered five days a week (Monday-Friday) year round and twice a day in the summer.  This elite high performance program features:

   

¨       Individual Player Development Program based on physical and chronological age & skill levels

¨       Conditioning, speed, and agility drills exercises and personal fitness regimes

¨       Personal evaluation of strokes with video analysis

¨       Intensive match play drills & singles and doubles match play & strategy tips

¨       Tips on mental skills & periodic mental skills coaching

¨       Tips on skin care and developing effective dietary and nutritional habits

¨       Tips on how understand your game style and on how to set up your tournament schedule

 

PTM 2015 Junior Program Schedule

All three PTM Junior Programs (Junior Munchkins, Junior Circuit and High Performance Junior Excellence)

 are offered five days per week Monday-Friday.  Junior Munchkin and Junior Circuit Programs

are offered from 4:30-6pm and from 6-7:30pm for a total of ten different classes per week. 

The High Performance Junior Excellence program is offered from 6-8pm Monday through Friday

for a total of five different classes per week
